The Lost Apothecary

Pure magic

I had high expectations for this book. It literally seemed to be everywhere, and I hadn’t heard a single negative thing said about this book. Needless to say, Sarah Penner did not disappoint.

I cannot say enough good things about this book. Every time I found myself having to put it down, I thought about it constantly until I could pick it back up. The story takes place between two different timelines in the same setting, and as the book progresses, so do the ties between the different time periods. We read through the perspective of a guilt ridden apothecary, a naive magic believing twelve year old, and a betrayed wife. Through their journeys we learn about love, lost betrayal, revenge, and most importantly, how to move forward

This book is SO fun and mysterious, and gives a great dose of female power in an unlikely fashion. If you like mysteries, rooting for the underdogs, ladies winning, and great writing, this is the book for you.

That’s it, that’s my review. Let me know what you think!
